After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and took his training at the Naval Training Station at Great Lakes, IL. He studied aviation electronics among other skills.

He met and married Katherine Trevillian while serving near her Virginia home. They were blessed with two daughters and one son during their marriage.

During this time, Harold Lee served in Corpus Christi, TX; NALF Fentress, VA; Alameda, CA; USS Kearsarge air craft carrier, on which he served in the far east 1955 – 1956; Border Field & Barbers Point in Hawaii, and Hawaii Armed Services Police.

He and his wife divorced in 1960. Three years later he was in the Naval Reserves at NAS Los Alamos, CA when a friend introduced him to Joyce Koenig, who was teaching elementary school in Anaheim, CA. They married in December 1963 in Fullerton, CA at Orangethorpe Methodist Church. The Navy transferred him to Seattle, WA in 1965. They lived in Lynnwood, WA north of Seattle. During this time, they were blessed with a daughter. When she was a year hold Harold was transferred once more, with only a year to go to a 20-year retirement. They moved to Perkasie, PA north of Philadelphia so he could finish his retirement of 20 years of service.

They returned to the rocky mountain west where Harold completed his BA degree and started another career: Teaching on the elementary level. He taught school in Lyman 4 years and was elementary principal.

In 1982 he received his Masters Degree through Fordham while he worked through 18 years as a District 10 Nebraska probation officer.

In 1955, Joyce and Harold Lee both retired, He from the NE Probation System, and she from 30-some years of teaching school. They settled in Gering, NE. By then, their daughter was through college and married, but living in the Lincoln and Omaha areas. In 2011 they did move from Gering to the Omaha area to be near their daughters, and their families. One more grandchild was added to the family with the adoption of Maddie. They arrived in Lincoln to greet her and so did her paternal grandparents.

Harold loved to travel, fish, and hunt and he did so. They leave so many happy memories. It was hard to see him suffer, but we know God is good and will take care of him through the gift of Christ’s blood paid for each of us if we accept it. Till we meet again.

The family moved shortly thereafter to Omaha, Nebraska where Ersline would be a lifelong resident. She attended Webster and Kellom Elementary Schools and Technical High School. Ersline met and later married Joseph Marion on October 7, 1956 and they had 8 children.

Mrs. Marion fondly called “Dolly” and her husband, fondly called “Joe” were established residents of the community and valued neighbors. They opened their home to anyone in need and known for providing huge meals for welcomed visitors from all walks of life. None could beat, and maybe few could match her baking cakes and sweet potato pies. Everyone knew Mrs. Marion, from being the best daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, friend, and homemaker to one of the best beauticians in this city. She had so many skills with range. She could lay carpet and tile, paint, wallpaper, stain cabinets, garden, and take one look at you and buy clothes with shoes to match and fit! One could truly say that she used her hands to bless God’s children. Additionally, Ersline was “Granny Dolly” to many daycare children and even had her own daycare for several years.

She doted on her family and was extremely protective of her children and their children. She loved them so much and often said, “I got some good kids”! She and her husband became foster parents, and she would purchase all sorts of items for anyone in need. God gave her the spirit of giving and sharing and she walked in her purpose with boldness and gladness.

During Ersline’s early life she attended the family’s home Church, Robinson Memorial COGIC. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and served her Church under the guidance of her uncle, Bishop James Anderson, Pastor of The Church of God in Christ Congregational. She served under several other Churches, including, The Church of God of Prophecy. She was the Church Mother, a title held and duties performed, bringing Glory to God. Her membership was with New Jerusalem Ministries and she also attended Believers Fellowship Church. Mother Marion loved God and she loved His Church and His people. She was loved, and will be sorely missed.
