Interment Cedardale Cemetery Papillion, NE. Memorials to Gretna School Foundation or Gretna Fire and Rescue.

Mary was born in Mullen Nebraska and lived in and around that area during her childhood years. At the age of ten, she moved to Omaha to live with her older sister Violet and her husband Bob. In 1960,  they moved to Gretna where she met the love of her life. Mary and Henry were united in marriage in 1962 and in May celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.

If her kids or grandkids had a program or sporting event you could plan on Mary being in the stands or audience. Mary was there in support and would rarely judge performance. She was just a fan, mother, grandmother watching the people she loved. The people that knew her loved her. Others would wonder who the sweet lady was that always had the extra blanket, band aid, or a sandwich to share. Friends and family often joked about her large purse or the trunk of her car. If it wasn’t in one of those two places, they didn’t make it or you really didn’t need it!

A friend once said that Mary was the perfect mother for four boys. She was tough but fair and firm with compassion. She would tell it like it was but would do it with an endearing heart. She was and will always be loved and will live in our hearts forever.
