Patricia I. Turner

1938 ~ 2019
Patricia Irene Turner (Kirk) passed away June 16, 2019 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease at Maple Crest Health Center. Patricia was born on January 5, 1938 in Mason City, Iowa and grew up in the small town of Fertile, Iowa where she graduated High School in 1956. After high school she met and married Robert L Turner in 1958 and they had three children. For the next twelve years, she was a devoted wife and mother. They divorced and Pat was thrust into the role of a single mother. She loved her family and especially loved being around her three grandchildren. Patricia had a long career as a customer service representative for Schering Plough Animal Health until her retirement in 2003. Her career began in Madison, Wisconsin in 1973 but she was relocated to Omaha, Nebraska in 1982 where she has resided ever since. She loved her cats, Austin and Bailey, long walks on the beach on the coast of Oregon, and singing and playing the piano. Patricia had a big heart, and she often donated anonymously to charities around the Omaha area.
Patricia is proceeded in death by her father, Horace Kirk, Mother, Golda Kirk, and eldest son, Randall Turner. She is survived by brothers, Jim and Linda Kirk of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Sam and Linda Kirk of Johns Creek, Georgia, her son, Roderick “Rick” Turner, daughter, Roberta “Birdie” Turner, and grandsons, Derick Turner, Kyle Turner, and Eric Turner.
The Turner family wishes to thank Hill Crest Hospice, and especially their volunteers who sat with Pat during her transition to death when family needed breaks; the staff and administration at Maple Crest Health Center for always treating Patricia with dignity, respect, and most importantly loving care during her two years she called it her home. We will never forget the kindness and compassion shown to her by her caregivers.

Marlene S. Hunt

August 30, 1934 – June 13, 2019

Marlene passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and the love of her life David A. Hunt, MD, just short of their 34th wedding anniversary. Her last days were blurred by Alzheimer’s Disease which she had battled for a number of years, but ultimately succumbed to cancer. Marlene is survived by her husband, David A. Hunt, MD., her children, Jay Steinmeyer (Maura) of Incline Village, NV, Loraine Steinmeyer of Reno, NV and Sandra Baluch (Michael) of Omaha, NE. Her step children, Elizabeth Hunt of Vienna, Austria, John Hunt (June) of Reno, NV, Carolyn Hunt of San Rafael, CA, Richard Hunt (Melinda) of Albuquerque,NM, and Robert Hunt (Deanna) of Carson City, NV. She was the Nana of 18, whom she loved dearly and Great Nana of 6, the joy in her last days.

Marlene was a light in the room. She was an advocate of family and lovingly supported them in all of their life adventures, selflessly. She was there at a moment’s notice for anyone in need and gave her all in bringing joy to others. At times, she gave more than she should have, but that was typical. If you ask, there are many children who are now adults who considered Marlene a second mom that guided them as needed at points in their lives. Marlene never met a stranger and was an instant ally to all whom she loved. Her light will burn brightly within the hearts of all she has touched.

Marlene will be missed greatly by her family and friends far and wide throughout the world! She is gone from this earth but will forever be remembered for her love and spirit! Please consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Association in search of a cure in her memory,
