Mollie Kay Reynolds
Mollie Kay Reynolds was born in Omaha, Nebraska on April 29, 1938 to Mollie Reynolds, her namesake. She was the eldest of nine children (8 sisters and 1 brother). Mollie attended Long School Elementary and Omaha Technical High School, graduating in 1956.
Kay was a long-time faithful member of Mt. Calvary attending at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Roy Johnson and years later was baptized by the late Bishop William H. Foeman. During her years at Mt. Calvary, Kay was a faithful and willing servant in the Lord’s house. Kay served as Head of the Culinary Dept. and served on the Auxiliary of Committed Workers. As a young woman rearing her family, one of Kay’s first jobs was at Booth Memorial Hospital in the Geriatric Department. She worked there until the hospital closed and used her severance pay to purchase a home for her growing family. Kay developed a passion for cooking and preparing feasts fit for a king, Kay loved to cook and retired from the Omaha Club after 30 years of service in catering. She also worked for Marriott for 18 tears in the field of catering. In addition to catering, Mollie was a caregiver/elder companion during her retirement years. She was a loving mother, aunt, grandmother and friend. Kay loved her family and instilled in each of them Christian principles at an early age. She will be missed for her dedication to family, her wisdom and commitment to her church and catering for family and friend’s festivities.
Kay was preceded in death by her mother and sisters: Barbara Wright, Beverly Johnson and Sondra Williams. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters: Rhonda McClinton-Wilder, Terra Reynolds-Ball (Rodien), Crystal Reynolds, Roxanne Reynolds-Triplett (Melvin), sons: Tony V. Reynolds, Jacque S. Reynolds, Wali Rashad and Robert C. Reynolds, brother: Neal LeRoy Reynolds, sisters: Brenda Faulkner (Robert), Debra Reynolds-Poole, Pamela Reynolds (Terry Nettles) and Bobbi Jean Reynolds-Tealer (Kenneth), special aunt: Jeannette Weedon-Brown, a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
