JoAnn Knebel, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend went to be with the Lord on 8/12/2022.

Born 11/29/1928 in Woodbine, IA, to James and Georgia Donaldson.

JoAnn grew up in the Havelock area of Lincoln, NE, graduating from Northeast High School in 1946.

She was united in marriage on March 7, 1954 to Donald E. Knebel. They had two daughters, Kathy and Nancy, and lived on a family farm in Norfolk, NE until 1967. They moved to Hastings, NE and then to O’Neil, NE in 1975.

JoAnn happily worked a variety of administrative and bookkeeping positions, retiring in 2018 at the age of 88.

She leaves behind to her family, and the many who knew her, a legacy of a life well lived, full of joy, kindness, and endless love.

Survived by husband: Donald Knebel; daughters: Kathy Knebel and Nancy (Kent) Monk; grandchildren: Josh Benson, Abby (Zach) Olsen, and Beth (Shane) May; great-grandchildren: Tyler Zach, Colin May, Jack May, Ellie Olsen, and Lizzy Olsen.

Preceded in death by brother: James Donaldson, Jr.; sister: Wilma Taddicken; and great-granddaughter: Emma Jo Olsen.
