Virgie Lee Louis
Virgie Lee Louis, the most amazing, beautiful, courageous, generous, witty and dynamic woman on the planet, departed this life for her eternal home on Monday, January 10, 2022 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Virgie was born to Marguerite LaFrance Reddick Ragas and the late John Reddick on May 27, 1945 in City Price, Louisiana in Plaquemines Parish.
Stepdaughter of the late August Ragas, Sr. Beloved sister of Clark, Valeria and the late Geraldine Reddick. Step-sister of the late Alfred Ragas, Sr., Mervin Ragas Sr., Nelson Ragas Sr., August Ragas Jr., Florence Ragas and Wilmer R. Parker.
Virgie is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Alfred; daughter Tyra (Michael); daughter-in-law Joyce; grandchildren Stephanie, Victoria, Jalissa, and Cameron; great grandchildren Jalen and Ja’Mireesa; and a host of cherished family members, ‘adopted children’, students, loved ones and lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Alfred Jr. and grandson Justin.
Known throughout her community as a strong and passionate leader of many causes, a few of her more well-known projects included teaching Business and Accounting courses at North High, implementing a 401k program at Charles Drew, coaching the Vikettes Pom Pom Squad, leading the Young Attorney’s Club, Business Law Program, and being involved in Nebraska politics and various boards.
Services will be held on January 20th 11:00 AM with Visitation 1 hour prior at Holy Name Catholic Church, 2901 Fontenelle Blvd.

Dankof, Lowell L. “Dan”
July 4, 1935 – January 10, 2022
Lowell (Dan) Dankof died on January 10, 2022 at the age of 86 yr, 6 mo and 6 days. He was born July 4, 1935 on his G’pa Miller’s farm in Atchison County, MO.
He attended high school in Hamburg, LA and was a 1957 graduate of Iowa State University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He earned his Master of Engineering Science Degree from Clarkson University (1971) in Potsdam, NY. He served in the U. S. Army and Reserves for 8 years until discharged in 1965. Dan worked for Western Electric for 33 years from 1957 to year’s end 1989, and retired as a Senior Engineer. He was a registered Professional Engineer in Nebraska.
Dan was an avid sports fan and grew up participating in all sports in high school. Baseball was his favorite at College and Semi-Pro level. Golf became a passion in later years. He was also a skilled deer hunter bow & arrow) and fisherman with many bragging rights trophies.
After college, Dan met the love of his life, Dottie (Dorothy Johnson), in Omaha, while Dottie was his dancing instructor. They were married March 14, 1959 at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Omaha. While raising a close family of three children, they enjoyed ballroom dancing and met many dear friends through that activity. They were active members of the German American Society for over 40 years and also active members of Lutheran Church of The Master for many years. Dan participated in his beloved Stephen Ministry for 16 years as a caregiver and leader with a passion for helping those in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cliff and Wilma Dankof, an infant sister, Joyce, and a sister Lois (Lloyd) Sebek of Hamburg, IA. He is survived by his loving and cherished wife of almost 63 years, Dottie, children Lisa (Dean) Cornett of Papillion, NE, Angela (Steve) Bellus of Reading, England UK, Karl (Mary) Dankof of Elkhorn, NE, brothers Duane (Diana) Dankof of Nebraska City, NE, and Dale Dankof of Shenandoah, IA, six grandchildren, two great-grandsons, and many friends. He will be missed.
Memorial Service 11:00 AM Saturday (1/22/2022), with visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, at Lutheran Church of the Master, 2617 S 114th St. Omaha, NE. Rodney G. Lensch
Lensch, Rodney G. (87). Born April 8, 1934 in Rock County, MN, passed away peacefully January 13, 2022 at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, NE. Beloved husband for 63 years of Joyce Finlayson Lensch; beloved father of Jeanne (Walter) Fiedler, Darby, MT, Jayne (John) Sachen, Red Wing, MN, Robyn Lensch and Joel (Susan) Lensch, Omaha, NE, and Christina Hardin, Darby, MT. Also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandson. Rev. Lensch graduated from Concordia Seminary, Springfield, IL, in 1959 and served Missouri Synod Lutheran churches in Coronado, CA, Columbus, OH, Camarillo, CA, and Thousand Oaks, CA. In 1968, he left parish life to minister eccumencially throughout the US, Australia and Brazil, most notably in St. Louis, MO, St. Paul, MN, and Albany, NY; his passion was to encourage and support pastors and lay leaders. A gifted teacher and writer, he published the Rod and Staff newsletter addressing various aspects of the Christian experience, as well as the social, political, and religious issues of the day, in print for 40+ years. Robert Allen Blanchard Age 74 of Omaha passed away January 7, 2022.
He was born on May 9, 1947 in Omaha, NE to Allen and Lela Blanchard.
He retired from Omaha Public Schools.
Robert is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Richard Blanchard (Mary); granddaughters, Marilyn, Samantha and JoJo, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jerry and Cindy Lohmeier; best friend, Ken Koop; numerous brothers and sisters in Christ.
