Gloria Ann Melotz

Gloria Ann Melotz age 83 of Omaha, NE passed away December 7, 2019.

She was born on May 22, 1936 in Millard, Ne to Henry and Lucy (Otte) Ploog.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband John (2006), sister; Lucille Schneekloth and brother; Earl Ploog.  She is survived by her children; Janet Karel (Steve), Steve Melotz (Joyce) and Jodeen Sterba (Hank), 3-grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, family and friends.

Joel G. Cloudt

Omaha –

Joel Gene Cloudt of Omaha, the oldest child of Gene and Jodene Cloudt, was born on December 19th, 1970.  Along with his two brothers and sister, Joel grew up on the family farm three miles east of Bennington. Joel attended Bennington Public School from kindergarten through his high school graduation.  Joel was always very artistic.  As a child, he would spend hours drawing very detailed pictures of the tractors and combines he had seen at farm shows.  Joel loved the farm and working with his family to make the most of each year.  He made his living working with his dad in the floor covering business, which he later took over.

Joel loved country music, good food, and visiting with nearly everyone he met.  All who knew Joel loved his great sense of humor and ability to tell a story with significant detail.  His keen sense of humor never failed to make everyone laugh at family gatherings and parties by telling stories and doing imitations.  Joel will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Wanda Steward

Wanda Steward was born on June 1, 1949 in Omaha, Nebraska, unto the union of Daniel and Ruth Steward. She departed this life on November 27, 2019 at Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy. She was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers Edwin and Sargent First Class Duane Joe Steward and sister Charlotte Geneva Steward Kennedy. She was educated at Kellom Elementary School formally called Paul Street School, then onto Omaha Technical High School where she graduated in 1967. Wanda was employed for 30 plus years at Western Electric, which became Lucent Technologies before her retirement.

Retirement for Wanda was an opportunity to master some of her favorite hobbies. Those hobbies included sewing, crocheting, silk flower arranging, indoor and outdoor gardening and price shopping for anything she needed to achieve her hobbies.

A hobby she excelled at the most was project management. She joyfully utilized her skill in this area to serve her community, and to markedly increase the happiness of friends and family alike in an unsung manner. She spent a great deal of her time planning and organizing weddings, special events for her beloved church, social events for personal friends and assisting whenever and wherever these skills could be shared. Family and friends enjoyed many well-organized holidays and gatherings, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, birthdays etc., for which there was always a flow of delicious cuisine, fun, joy and happiness. Ultimately, her intent was always to maintain that long lasting good old fashion family bond or kinship.

Wanda loved a challenge of engaging in intellectual discourses with others to purposefully learn and explore varieties of subject matters of interest to satisfy her insatiable curiosity. She was a ferocious reader of – books of all genres, spanning the range of the classics to modern history, etc., which gave fuel to many of the discussions she respectfully

had with everyone. This any family member can attest to, as she so subtlety carried over wide range of understanding during many board games played during the holidays and summertime card parties.

She accepted Christ as her lord and savior at a young age and spent many hours at her home church, The Church of The Living God.

Wanda leaves to cherish her sisters Gwendolyn and Andrea Lee Steward, significant other Henry Redd. Also, nieces Paulette Kennedy, Paula Kennedy Mends-Cole (Alex), Wanda Kennedy, and Angela Kennedy; nephews, Darrel Steward (Janice), Wayne Kennedy (Gabrielle), Corey Steward, Donatello Kennedy and a host of nieces, nephews, godsons and other relatives.

Visitation: Monday, December 9, 2019 3-6 p.m., Roeder Mortuary, 4932 Ames Avenue.

Services: Tuesday, December 10, 2019 10 a.m., Church of The Living God, 2029 Binney St.

Tona D. Nelson

1970 – 2019

Tona Denise Nelson was born May 4, 1970 in Omaha, Ne. to Cleosie M. Nelson and Uri Haynes.

Tona attended Omaha Northwest High School, she later received her G.E.D. from Memphis, Tn. Adult in 1989.

She worked for Omaha Public Schools for several years, and developed a love for her babies and they loved Ms. Tona.

She later became gainfully employed with No Frills Supermarket now known ae Family Fare. She was employed with the company for five years, Tona was a dedicated hard worker and loyal employee even as her health began to fail. Come rain, snow, sleet and sunshine she was there faithfully, in that check out line! She loved her co-workers and customers.

One of her hobbies was cooking, she definitely enjoyed it! She was an excellent cook, and you could taste her love in every bite. Tona also was an avid reader and a member of Sista to Sista Book Club.

She is preceded in death by her mother Cleosie M Nelson, Step Father Willie Roy McCoy, Uncle James Alexander Jr. and Danny Nelson.

She leaves with loving memories her special friend, Russell R. Box, son; Trevon D. Merle “Biff” Musser

Biff was a survivor of the polio epidemic in the 1940’s. He persevered and God granted him a Blessed life.
