Virgie Lee Louis
Virgie Lee Louis, the most amazing, beautiful, courageous, generous, witty and dynamic woman on the planet, departed this life for her eternal home on Monday, January 10, 2022 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Virgie was born to Marguerite LaFrance Reddick Ragas and the late John Reddick on May 27, 1945 in City Price, Louisiana in Plaquemines Parish.
Stepdaughter of the late August Ragas, Sr. Beloved sister of Clark, Valeria and the late Geraldine Reddick. Step-sister of the late Alfred Ragas, Sr., Mervin Ragas Sr., Nelson Ragas Sr., August Ragas Jr., Florence Ragas and Wilmer R. Parker.
Virgie is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Alfred; daughter Tyra (Michael); daughter-in-law Joyce; grandchildren Stephanie, Victoria, Jalissa, and Cameron; great grandchildren Jalen and Ja’Mireesa; and a host of cherished family members, ‘adopted children’, students, loved ones and lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Alfred Jr. and grandson Justin.
Known throughout her community as a strong and passionate leader of many causes, a few of her more well-known projects included teaching Business and Accounting courses at North High, implementing a 401k program at Charles Drew, coaching the Vikettes Pom Pom Squad, leading the Young Attorney’s Club, Business Law Program, and being involved in Nebraska politics and various boards.
Services will be held on January 20th 11:00 AM with Visitation 1 hour prior at Holy Name Catholic Church, 2901 Fontenelle Blvd.
