Robert Edward Lobsiger Jr. (Bobby)

Robert E. Lobsiger Jr., 62, passed away suddenly on October 19, 2021. Bob entered the world on May 15, 1959, in Mitchell, South Dakota to Bob Sr. and Shirley Ann (Harper) Lobsiger.  After graduating from South Dakota State University, Bob served our country as an Army Air Defense Artillery Officer meeting his future wife Sue while they each served in the 10th Mountain Division.  They were married in October 1991.  Bob deployed to Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm with VII Corps.  He earned his master’s degree from Webster University and eventually entered the Information Technology field.  He most recently served as the Senior Data Center Manager for a large investment company.

Bob had a passion for learning, and many could attest to his vast knowledge on a broad array of topics. He was a lover of cars, sous vide cooking, bad dad jokes and buying 2 or 3 of everything “just-in-case”. Bob enjoyed being an uncle and adored his nieces and nephews. His true pride and joy was his daughter Karlee. His heart danced with joy through each stage of her childhood.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and three of his siblings, Lana (Lobsiger) Flagtwet, Theodore Carl (Ted) Lobsiger, and Heidi Lee (Lobsiger) Weiss. He is survived by his wife, Susan Gayle (Thompson) Lobsiger, daughter Karlee Ann Lobsiger, brothers-in-law Dr. Lonnie R. Flagtwet and Dale A. Weiss (Melisa), cousin Linda Garbina Hamsa (Dan), sister Leah Lobsiger, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
