Matthew Kucks, 38, of Omaha, Nebraska passed from this life peacefully in his home on Saturday, February 19, 2022. Matt was a bright spark in this world; he will be always remembered as a true friend to so many who had the honor of knowing him.

Matt, born to Lynn Kucks and Margie (Cronin) Kucks, took his first breath on April 30, 1983. In his life, he was a wonderful son to Margie, Lynn and Laurie Kucks, a loving brother and friend to Justin Kucks and Shane and Chris (Robak), cousin, nephew, uncle, and a devoted friend to countless others. Matt enjoyed school and was proud to graduate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2005 with a degree in Criminal Justice, making lifelong friendships along the way.

He spent much of his adult life in Merritt Island, Florida, and enjoyed the beach. Matt enjoyed hosting and exploring his town with visitors. After he purchased a boat, his favorite place was the water. Despite his distaste for cold, Nebraska weather, Matt moved back to Omaha in 2019 to be near family. He was successful in his work endeavors, bringing passion and enthusiasm to everything he did.

His two nephews meant more to Matt than words can describe; Matt shared his fun-loving personality with them through experiences at the trampoline park, playing video games, having Nerf gun wars and being their hero. He loved animals, traveling, boating, golfing, warm weather and sunshine. He joins his grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends who have gone before us. All who knew Matt appreciated his care for others, his loyalty and his adventurism.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to either the Nebraska Humane Society or American Heart Association in Matt’s name.
