Margaret D. Nisley

8/6/1938 – 12/3/2021

Margaret D. Nisley age 83 of Omaha, was born the second of 4 daughters to Fred and Mabel (Hanawalt) Haan in rural Butler County, Iowa. She attended country school and Aplington, where she graduated High School in 1955. Margaret lived in Waterloo and Sioux City for a few years. She had accepted Jesus as her Savoir when she was 10 years old and when Marge came to Omaha, she joined a fellowship of Christians that founded Keystone Bible Chapel, where she worshipped the Lord her entire adult life.

Margaret was united in marriage with James E. Nisley in 1964. Jim had a flooring business and Marge did his bookkeeping. She also worked for many years as a secretary, a visiting nurse, and her favorite job, a displayer for Home Interiors and Gifts! Marge made great friends and discovered a love of traveling even further than the weekends at Jim’s cabin listening to Husker Football. She enjoyed baking sweets to go with her morning tea and her devotional reading. Most of all Margaret loved being with her family. She regularly visited her parents and sisters and would travel to California, Colorado and Texas to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She made things beautiful.

Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband Jim in 1984; her devoted parents; her stepchildren, Randy and Connie; her dear nephew, Lynn Moye; and her first born, darling daughter Marjorie “Little Margie”, who is interred at Hitesville Cemetery with her Grandparents, near Margaret’s childhood home and farm.

Margaret is survived by two sons, Michael and David; her daughter Tricia Sarvis and son-in-law T.J.; three sisters, Faylene Mohring, Evelyn (James) Miller, and Blythe Gienau; 7 grandchildren; step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
