Linda Kay (Bakke) Kroon

Linda Kay (Bakke) Kroon (71) passed away May 14, 2021 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Beloved wife of 49 years to Tom Kroon. Born in Beloit, WI to Lawrence and Kathryn Bakke, she retired from Omaha Public Schools where she worked as a school bus aide, and was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church.

Linda was an avid crafter, and constantly had a list of projects to do. Her favorite projects were handmade quilts for her children, grandchildren, and various members of her family and friends. She loved gifting handmade goods, and surprising people with them. Linda had a fun loving generous spirit, and friends of her children and grandchildren found themselves immediately adopted into the family.

She is survived by her husband Tom Kroon, mother Kathryn Bakke, sisters Patricia Saunders and Carol Carlson, brother Gerald Bakke (Patti Jo), children Victoria McDermott (Nick), Kristine Swinford (Jamie), and Andrew Kroon (Brandy), grandchildren Liam McDermott, Glenn McDermott, Kaylee Swinford, Brianne McDermott, Alexis Kroon, Kathryn McDermott, Leighton Wachter, Loralei Swinford, Marguerite Swinford, and great-granddaughter Kinsley McDermott.

Linda’s Memorial Service will be held at Gethsemane Lutheran Church Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11:00am, with a lunch following.
