LaVonne was born January 24, 1923 in Oklahoma City, Ok to Ora and Julia (Coulter) Manese. She was baptized May 21, 1939. LaVonne graduated from Pierre High School, Pierre South Dakota in 1941, where she also played in the band.

 She worked as a secretary for Whitney M. Young Jr., Civil Rights Activist, Cudahy Packing Plant and Anti-Defamation League of B’Nai B’Rith for over 35 years.

LaVonne was a proud member of the Omaha Round-up Saddle Club. She enjoyed playing pokeno, ceramics, reading her paper back novels and she enjoyed fishing.

 LaVonne Inez (Manese) Curtis was proceeded in death by her parents, daughter Julie (Curtis) Trotter and ex-husband Herbert H. Curtis. She is survived by sons, Herbert Coulter Curtis and Thomas R. Curtis (Tracy) and a host of great and great great grandchildren, cousins and many beloved friends.
