Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend among many other things. She was married to her husband Guy of 63 years and had 4 wonderful children Debbie, Guy, Mike and Scott who cherished and loved her. Her love that she had for everyone, especially her family, was strong and evident. You were always welcomed with a “Hi honey, sweetie or precious”. She had a way of making you feel like family.
Family vacations to Colorado, camping trips and snowmobiling were some things Joyce enjoyed doing with her family. Her husband and kids were something very important and special to her. Life was busy with 4 kids but she loved every second of it. She definitely was meant to be a mom, and the best one for sure. She would drop anything to be there for any of them. Her 3 boys did a good job of keeping her on her toes throughout her life.
Anyone who knew Joyce knew she loved to cook. If you didn’t you would know by walking into her house and always smelling something delicious or by seeing the hundreds and hundreds of cookbooks she had stacked in her cupboards.
One thing Joyce loved as much as she loved her family were her dogs Noah and Daisy. One would say she definitely was a dog person. They loved her and she loved them.
Joyce’s days were filled with her love of music, especially Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Elvis and Michael Jackson. She also loved thrift store shopping, running to the Dollar Tree, listening to books and eating Broncos burgers.
Joyce fought an 8-year battle of cancer, but you would never know because she was always so worried about everyone else. While going through treatments she was known for holding the doors for other patients and making sure they were comfortable. You would have thought she was a volunteer working there, not a patient. Her doctors and nurses were everything to her and she loved them very much.
Joyce was in hospice for 6 weeks at her home and was very well cared for by her loved ones. Even though she didn’t feel the best she was still more concerned about you and not herself. She definitely kept her sense of humor towards the end. She often referred herself to riding down her chair lift as Mary Poppins pretending to hold an umbrella. Her faith was amazingly strong until the very end when she was greeted by her savior. Joyce died peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones and family. Rest peacefully Joyce and hope you are tapping away in heaven.
