On Wednesday, April 20, 2022, John W. Hayden, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 67.

What is there to say about Johnnie? Let me explain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up.

Johnnie was a self-proclaimed nerd who spent his final day his way – solving problems, playing poker, and watching Doctor Who.

He enjoyed listening to good music, taking motorcycle trips (winding, twisty roads with beautiful vistas preferred), cruising with his top down (any time of year), causing mischief and, most importantly, spending time with his family. His smile and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.

Preceded in death by his father: John R. Hayden and step-mother: Dorothy Hayden-Mittlieder; as well as his grandparents: Noble & Majorie Guffey and Ward & Ruth Hayden.

Survived by his wife: Laura (Mathews) Hayden; and children: Nathaniel (Barbara) Urek, Kirsten (Christopher) Perry, Breanna (Mitchell) Warren, and Caitlin (Anthony) Ridgway. Also survived by his mother: Shirley (Guffey) Mappes, step-father: Elwin “Lucky” Mappes; siblings: Terri (Jim) Smith, Nicole (Jeremy) Martin, Patrick (Lill-Ann) Hayden, and Michael Hayden; his nine grandchildren: Zane, Anthony, Blake, Raya, Michael, Leo, Parker, Ben and Elijah; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Memorials can be made to Florence Historical Foundation.
