Geneva R. Harms

Age 86 – Geneva Ray Harms was born April 15,1935 in Hope, Arkansas to Queen Esther Blackmon Walton and Robert Muldrew. Geneva departed this life on December 3, 2021, in Omaha Nebraska.

Geneva migrated to Omaha, Nebraska in the late 50’s in search of a new life and opportunities outside of Hope, Arkansas. Geneva spent many years working for Aksarben horse racing. Geneva had many friends and was loved by all who met her, she was known for her stylish clothes, fancy jewelry, her witty personality, and sense of Humor (she had a way with words). Family mattered most to Geneva, if you saw Geneva, you would see her late daughter Nancy right by her side. Geneva was very close to her family members, they affectionally saw her as a 2nd mom and grandmother to most. Geneva was the youngest and last living child of her Mother Queen Esther. Geneva became the Matriarch of her large family. Geneva was the glue, that kept her family close. Often hosting Holiday family gatherings, she was the BEST COOK and was known for her chicken and dressing and sweet potato pies.

Later in life as Geneva aged, her love and care she gave others was reciprocated back to her by her immediate family, friends, and care staff.

Geneva is proceeded in death by her: Husband John Harms, daughter Nancy Ross, Mother Queen Esther Blackmon Walton, Father Robert Muldrew. Brothers: Willie, Charlie Jr., James, Grady Sr. Sisters: Louise, Annie Mae and Estelle.  Geneva leaves to cherish her memory: FOUR BEAUTIFUL GENERATIONS OF NEPHEWS, NIECES and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Wednesday 5-7 PM at Roeder Mortuary.  Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Thursday (12/9/2021) at Roeder Mortuary, 2727 N. 108th Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68164, Burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha, Nebraska.
