Age 91 of West Des Moines, IA.  Elaine (Blackman) Schewe passed away on Friday, April 15 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  She graduated from Benson High School in Omaha NE.  Later in life, she was extremely proud of earning her Broker’s license in real estate.  She married Edward Schewe on March 11, 1950, and they shared 65 years of marriage  They worked together as parents and co-owners of Standard Iron Works in Omaha.  Elaine’s passion was always her family and in stories, she often referred to “my three daughters.”  She enjoyed bowling on a mother-daughter team, baking, reading, sewing, working on the PTA, singing in the Mount View Women’s Chorus, and serving as a leader in Bible Study Fellowship.  She was a member of Eastern Star.  Elaine leaves three daughters:  Joyce (Chuck) Hart, Margaret (Roger) Langpaul, Vivian (Kelly) Johansen; grandchildren: Clinton Hart, Jessica Stephens, Christopher Langpaul, Alexander Langpaul, Erik Johansen, and Lora Johansen; great-grandchildren: Kellyn and Colvin Hart, Olivia and Alaina Stephens, Ella, Lily and Brock Langpaul, Kate and Joe Langpaul; 2 sisters-in-law: Lucille Schewe and Marilyn Schewe; and brother-in-law: Reggie Finch. Preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband, nine siblings, and grandson Ryan Langpaul.
