David accomplished many achievements and goals, but the greatest one was at an early age, when he accepted Christ. He was a longstanding member of Paradise Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Willie Washington & Dr. Thomas L. Smith where he continued to attend until his health began to decline. In 1962, he graduated from Edison High School in Fresno, California and received an Associate Degree in Business Management from Fresno City College. He later moved to Omaha, Nebraska where he joined union and married the love of his life Barbara in 1965. They had 4 boys and 2 girls. He was employed at Vickers Cooperation and retired from United Ag with 21 years of service. David was a landlord, entrepreneur and owner of Williams’ Bowling Pro Shop and Williams Janitorial Services. He enjoyed traveling, bowling, telling jokes, listening to good old fashion music, going on car rides, giving knowledge and advice whether you wanted to hear it or not, watching the NFL and NBA games, and loved good southern cooking from his wife. He would always call, to check on family and friend’s well-being. He would sit for hours and watch his kids and grandchildren play sports. He was an avid well-known bowler, who bowled many 300 games and 800 series throughout his bowling career. He was abducted into the Omaha Bowling Hall of Fame April, 17, 1999. David loved the month of May because it was his marriage anniversary and the month of January because of his wife’s birthday. We all have a story or two tell when it comes to David that we will always remember. He was a loving father and a great provider and there was never a dull moment when he was around.
