Cindy was born in Red Oak, Iowa on November 14, 1967, to Howard & Virginia Thompson. She is the youngest of 2 children. She attended school in Elkhorn, NE and graduated from Elkhorn High School in 1986.  She worked after high school at a daycare and from there started her career in financing. She worked as bank teller and then moved into loan processing at Wells Fargo and then became a senior auditor at Caliber Home Loans.  She married Jeff on June 12, 2004. They have 2 sons Zane (17) and Christian (15).

Cindy did a variety of jobs LuLaRoe, Scentsy, and Avon as well as working her full-time job with Caliber Home Loans.  She loved being around people and was very active in church with Living Grace Lutheran Church.

In 2016, they took in a foreign exchange student, Lisa Nehls. She was the daughter Cindy never had.  They had a wonderful time when she was here as she taught German to the boys and was teaching them about her culture. They as a family took her traveling to different states and to meet most of the extended family members.

As her boys were getting older, they enjoyed playing instruments.  Once they got to high school, Cindy loved being a “band mom” and would chaperone since Jeff would be driving the bus for the school when Zane would go to competitions.

Cindy’s favorite hobbies were camping with her family, crocheting, wine tasting, and spending time with extended family and her fur babies.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Howard Thompson; father-in-law, John Chunka; sister-in-law Valerie Chunka. She is survived by her husband Jeff; sons: Zane and Christian; foreign exchange daughter: Lisa Nehls; mother: Virginia Thompson; sister: Naomi Thompson; niece: Hope Borseth (Tom), Grace, Silas, Isaiah, and Fiona; mother-in-law: Bev Chunka; sisters-in-law: Denise (Mike) Hogan, Allison (Dan) Drumheller, and Stacie (Raymond) Butler; numerous nieces, and nephews.

Memorials to the family for later designation & the boy’s college fund.
