Charles Edward Hudson was born to Henry Hudson and Ethel B McDaniel on 10/18/1957 in St Louis Missouri. Charles was raised in Johnny DeShields projects. He attended East St. Louis Public School until joining job corps. In September 1977, his family Robin Hudson, Ray Shanklin, and DeMario Shanklin moved to Omaha, Nebraska. Charles started working in laundry at St. Joe Hospital at Boys Town. Soon after he was promoted to shipping and receiving supervisor in St. Joe main hospital. Charles was a hard worker who then went on to work at Owens & Minor for many years until retirement. After retirement Charles went back to school, as well as working part time at Omaha Steaks and in the hotel industry. Along the way Charles met his partner Inez Rhone. Inez had two daughters Patricia and Michelle Jackson in which he took in as his own. Charles has ten grandchildren he leaves to cherish his memory: Carlotta Jackson, Carletha Jackson, Alexandra Sosa, DeMisha Shanklin, Johnathan Shanklin, Calvin Wells-Hudson, DeMario Shanklin, Dalvon Jackson, Dale Jackson and Anthony Watkins Jr. Charles was the sixth child born out of ten. Charles was a great man who loved whomever he considered his family. Charles will be greatly missed for his contagious smile and happy laugh. Charles was proceeded in death by his parents Henry and Ethel. His brothers’ Henry Jr, Calvin, Willie, Roger, and Dennis. As well as his sons’ Ray and Calvin. Left to cherish Charles memories is his son DeMario (Unikka) Shanklin, Ethel (James) Jones, Iree (James) Jones, Connie Marie, Wayne Hudson, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins and a host of relatives and friends. Charles truly was a blessing in many people’s life.
Visitation Noon to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2022 with Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. all at Roeder Mortuary, 4932 Ames Ave.
Interment: Forest Lawn Cemetery, 7909 Mormon Bridge Rd., Omaha, NE.
