Jerome J. Mackey
4/26/1939 – 10/2/2021
Jerome suffered from dementia for over 5 years. We lost pieces of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend everyday. We rejoice today knowing he is home with Jesus and his body and mind are once again intact.
Born in Lohrville, IA on April 26, 1939, to Leo and Alice Mackey, the youngest of 6 children. Jerome married Neva, the love of his life, on March 3,1962. Together they built a beautiful life and had 3 children. A graduate of Lohrville High School (1958) and Iowa Western College (1978). He spent most of his career in Agriculture Sales.
Jerome never knew a stranger and was always the first to volunteer help. He had a strong faith and was active in the Knights of Columbus. Jerome was often the “life of the party” and never afraid to tell you what he was thinking. Jerome loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed watching Hawkeye football, playing golf, and working in his garden.
Survived by wife of 59 years, Neva Mackey; children, Michael (Shelley), Janet (Chad) Christiansen, Annie (Creig) Coffman and 6 grandchildren.
