Gage Andrew Nech

8/14/2002 – 12/12/2021

Gage Andrew Nech was born August 14th, 2002, the second son of Justin and Brooke Nech. Gage entered into eternal rest on December 12th, 2021 at the age of 19. He is survived by his loving parents Justin and Brooke; brothers Tate and Kale; Grandparents Courtney and Paula Atwell; Grandma Joan Nech; Great Grammy Evelyn Gumescheimer; Uncle T.J. and Jessica Atwell; Aunt Daneé and Jeremy Langer; Uncle Jeff Nech; Aunt Jill Nech; and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his Grandfather Larry Nech; Great Grandfather V.J. Gumescheimer; Great Grandparents Merritt and Thelma Atwell, Bud, and Rosalee Nech; and Bill and Rosemary Schlick.

At an early age Gage showed self-confidence and had the determination to figure things out on his own. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Gage was a best friend to his black lab, Grizz. Gage didn’t know a stranger and looked forward to the day when he could take over Papa’s farm. If you wanted to hear a goofy, sometimes inappropriate joke or one liner just ask Gage—he always had one up his sleeve. He was always busy creating, whether it was the tattoo he got soon after he turned 18 or the landscape designs he was proud to install for his customers. Gage had a huge heart and always wanting to help others. His faith allowed him to offer his services on The Water’s Edge Mission Trips for many years.

During his junior and senior year, Gage attended Metro Career Academy studying HVAC. He graduated from Gretna High School in May of 2021. Gage worked in many aspects of lawn care, including at Ty’s Outdoor POWER, mastering his trade at age 19. He founded and was the sole owner of Platinum Lawn & Landscape. Gage had more clients than his parents ever knew about! He was adamant about doing the best job he could offer his clients.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 16th from 4:30-7:30 pm at The Water’s Edge Church, 19600 Harrison Street, Gretna. The celebration of Gage’s life will be held on Friday, December 17th at 10:30 am at The Water’s Edge and online at www.youtube.com/weomaha. Gage’s parents ask, in lieu of flowers, that memorials be made to The Water’s Edge Youth Mission Trips or Gretna Public School Foundation for scholarships to the Metro Career Academy.
