Jon Russell “Jack” Fox

Jon Russell “Jack” Fox passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 9th, 2020.  Born in Omaha, Jack was an avid Husker football fan, a proud member of the North Omaha Tavern Golf League for 63 years, and a lifelong member of Local 39 of the Heat and Frost Insulators Union.  Jack was an incredible family man and a reliable and loved friend to so many, and will always be remembered for his dry and clever sense of humor.  Jack was preceded in death by parents, Duane and Ida Mae, sister-in-law Jackie, and brother-in-law Mark.  He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marilyn, sons Dave (Lori), Doug (Renee), and Devin(Rob), seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, as well as brother, Bud, and sisters, Nancy(Jim), Sue(Mike), and Rox.  Family will be receiving visitors at Roeder Mortuary on 108th Street Tuesday, January 14th from 5 to 8pm, and a memorial service will be held at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, 61st and Western, Omaha, Wednesday January 15th, at 11am with a luncheon to follow.  Memorials to Luther Memorial.

Larry Laverne Eggers

Larry Laverne Eggers, 69, of Gretna, NE passed away at his beloved home with his loved ones surrounding on January 8, 2020.
He was born in Gretna on October 26, 1950 to parents Lawrence and Elvera Eggers. Larry graduated from Gretna High School in 1969, spent time in the Military Reserves and a career of more than 30 years in the Sprinkler Fitting field. During that time he lived and adventured in Colorado, Alaska, Montana and South Carolina before returning home to Nebraska in 1988.
He enjoyed the farm life, which included horseback riding, roping, tending chickens and cattle, and gardening. His grandchildren will remember many rides around the farm on Grandpa Larry’s John Deere Gator.
He is survived by his wife, Sherri (Ipock) Eggers; mother, Elvera Eggers of Gretna; children, Charles Eggers of Springfield and Elizabeth Eggers of Omaha; stepsons, Clinton Boyd of Omaha and Clayton (Tiffani) Boyd of Gretna; siblings, Bill (Pam) Eggers and Jane (Mike) Freyer; five grandchildren, Dalton Eggers, Maisy Hill and Harlee, Braxton and Railynn Boyd; and a large extended family. Preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Eggers; sister, Sandy Ross; and stepson, Colton Boyd.


In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Gretna, Nebraska or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.


Services will be held at Roeder Mortuary (11770 Standing Stone Drive in Gretna) at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 13. Lunch will immediately follow at the American Legion (11690 S 216th St in Gretna).

Patricia Ann Tanner

1954 – 2020

Patricia Ann Tanner, sunrise June 19, 1954, sunset January 05, 2020. Patricia was born to Emma Jean and Ernest Lee Tanner. She is the oldest of four children. She is preceded in death by brother Ernest Lee Tanner, Jr., Surviving loved ones are daughter LaFonda Tanner, son LaMarr (LaTera) Tanner, brother Donald (Charlene) Tanner, sister Jacqueline Tanner-Green. Grandchildren, Talaysia Tanner, J’marrai (John) Alexis, Tevin Tanner, LaMarr Tanner, Jr., Kyaire Tanner and Koloni Tanner. Two great grandchildren Anthony (AJ) Tanner and Jaeden Alexis. Patricia had a host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins and other family and friends. Special friend Mrs. Pauline Saunders.

Patricia dedicated her life to Christ and was worshiping at Living Hope United Methodist church. Patricia was a hardworking, giving and loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed making memories with her family, especially her grandchildren who she loved unconditionally. She was truly dedicated to her family. Patricia could be found working in her yard, watching movies (especially scary movies), shopping at the Goodwill with friends and family, spending time with her church family and friends, reading self-help books and working. Patricia enjoyed life and was most happy when others were happy.

Patricia graduated from Technical High School in 1972, she graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelor of Science degree in Gerontology (Family Science). She started a Master of Science in Urban Studies at University of Nebraska at Omaha and had to take a hiatus when her health started to decline.

Patricia worked hard to meet her aspirations and to be a role model for her family. She was a tenacious and driven woman who worked two jobs for most of her career. She was employed by UNMC for over twenty years before retiring. In 1992, she joined Eastern Office on Aging as a practicum student, then transitioned to full time as a Field Supervisor as was soon promoted to Field Director. After 27 of dedicated service, she retired for the second time in June 2019.

Shirley A Woodward

3/14/1929 – 1/7/2020

  Omaha – Shirley Arlene Woodward was born in Grand Island to Henry and Kathryn Franzmeier on March 14, 1929.  She had three sisters; Darlene, Joann, and Janet.  Shirley met Jim Woodward through their church youth groups.  They married on October 3, 1948 in Grand Island.  She and Jim lived in several towns in Central Nebraska before moving to Omaha with Jim’s job with Northwestern Bell.  Omaha was home for Shirley for the rest of her life.  She and Jim raised four children and established many good friendships through their church and workplaces.  Shirley enjoyed hosting friends and family at their home.  She was known for serving memorable meals and desserts prepared with her loving expertise.

Survived by husband of 71 years James (Jim), children Leslie (Jack) Sila, Mike (Shawna), Nancy (Gary) Roger, Tim (Cheryl), 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, family and friends.

LeElton (Lee) Ray Cravens Sr.

LeElton (Lee) Ray Cravens Sr. suddenly passed away on December 22nd, 2019 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Lee was born on October 3rd, 1964 to Royal Cravens and Cecile Morris. Lee is predeceased by his mother Cecile Morris and brother Alonzo Cravens. Lee is survived by children LeElton Jr., and Whitley; siblings Royale (Kathleen), Cecelia, and April (Barry) Eaves; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Lee will be remembered for his amazing cooking, carpentry, and fishing ability and knowledge. Lee was 55 years old. Rest now Lee your battle is over.
