Annelore M. Sewell

Annelore Margarete (Margaret) Sewell, 84, passed away on April 17, 2020, at her home in Omaha, Nebraska.

Margaret, or “Schatz” as she was affectionately known to her husband Bill, was born on October 7, 1935 in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, Germany to Erwin and Franziska Baumann. She met her husband, William (Bill) Sewell on his first overseas assignment to Germany and they were married on May 7, 1960 in Landstuhl, Germany. They were married 58 years until Bill’s passing in 2018.

Margaret was a devoted military spouse and homemaker, raising the couple’s four children – Raymond, Carolyn (Deb), William Jr., and Valerie – and keeping her family happy and together during their many travels around the world. Margaret was well known by friends and family, regardless of location, for her hospitality and home-cooked meals (especially her potato salad), as well as her standing hair appointments every Thursday regardless of where the family was stationed at the time. Margaret was known and loved by many outsides of her own family as “Mama Sewell”.

Margaret is preceded in death by husband, William, and parents, Erwin and Franziska Baumann. Margaret is survived by children: Raymond (Deb) Sewell, C. Deb Strickland, William (Kim) Sewell, Jr., and Valerie Sewell; grandchildren: Brandon (Kim) Sewell and TeAnna Strickland; great-grandchildren: Jayce, Piper, and Everett; siblings, Emilie Brown, Werner Baumann, and Roland Baumann; and other extended family and dear friends.

The family of Margaret Sewell wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all of our friends and family for your support during this difficult time. You have been so kind to our family. It has been a comforting blessing to each of us.

Annelore will be buried with her husband at Omaha National Cemetery.

Services will be at a later date.
