Anderson (Andy) Cousin Jr.
Anderson (Andy) Cousin Jr. was born in Jackson, Mississippi on November 19th, 1934. The son of Anderson Sr and Bernice Cousin. He had 3 half -brothers: Clifton, Albert, and John Gary. Anderson was baptized and confirmed in 1942 at St. Mark Episcopal Church in Jackson. He moved to Omaha with his parents in 1943 and joined St. Phillips Episcopal Church where he served as an altar boy.
He graduated from Central High School in 1953 where he lettered in football, wrestling, and track.
In June 1954, Andy enlisted in the Army and served as a military policeman in Japan, Korea and Ft. Polk, LA until he was discharged in 1958.
He married Manda Marie McCray on May 3rd 1959. From this union, there are three daughters that were born. Mary Ann, Denise Rene’ and Anita Marie. He had two step-daughters: Marie Jackson and Jackie Finley.
Andy was appointed to the Omaha Police Department in April 1959 and retired with the rank of Lieutenant in November 1992.
His assignments included the Uniform Field Bureau, Criminal Investigation Bureau, Internal Affairs and the Inspection Service Bureau. He received a B.S degree in Criminal Justice from the University Nebraska at Omaha.
His wife, Marie Cousin, preceded Andy in death on May 30th 1996.
After retirement, he spent his leisure time enjoying his children, 13 grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great- great- grandchildren, reading and listening to music.
Anderson Cousin lived a full life. He will be deeply missed and his memories will carry on with all of those who were blessed with the opportunity to know and love him.

Interment: Forest Lawn Cemetery with Military Honors By the Omaha Police Department.
