Agatha (Aggie) Marie (Smock) Danenhauer was born on September 23, 1935, in Belleville, KS.  She is the daughter of W.L. Lee and Lenora (Ekstrom) Smock. Aggie graduated from Concordia High School in 1953, in Concordia, KS. She then went to Fort Hays State College, in Hays, KS and received teachers training and teacher’s certificate. She started her teaching career in 1955 in Topeka, KS. Aggie then married William “Bill” Danenhauer on June 3, 1956. Bill and Aggie then moved to Baltimore as Bill was then drafted by the Baltimore Colts in the 1956 draft and stayed two years. The family then moved back to Kansas. In 1960, the family moved to Denver, CO, because Bill played for the Denver Broncos. After Bill finished playing the family resided Commerce City, CO. Aggie taught preschool and kindergarten. In 1970 the family moved to Omaha, for Bill to coach at University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO).  Aggie taught for Omaha Public Schools for 21 years and received her Bachelor’s Degree and then Master’s Degree from UNO.  In 1991, Bill and Aggie moved to Bella Vista, AK.

Aggie is survived by her four children, son: Bill Jr & Donna Danenhauer of Omaha, son: Bob & Shelley Danenhauer of Omaha, daughter: Becky & Todd Thatcher of Delta, CO, and daughter: Brenda & Mike Bland of Gretna, NE;  11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.

Aggie was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years: William Danenhauer; her parents: W.L. Lee & Lenora Smock; and infant son: Carl Lee.
