Tommie L. Teahon

7/6/1941 ~ 11/6/2021

Tommie “Tom” L. Teahon, charming, smooth talking, hard headed cowboy who was tough as nails, passed away peacefully at Hillcrest Firethorn in Lincoln Nebraska Saturday November 6th 2021 at the age of 80.

Tommie was born at home in Anselmo, Nebraska to the late Charles Teahon and Clara (Franssen) Teahon in July of 1941. Tommie weighed 12 pounds and was 24 inches long at birth.  He always said he was so big he just crawled out and often referred to himself as 2 foot Tommie.

Tommie had a long wonderful life full of so many stories and every time he told one it would gain more and more “details” that may have been a tad exaggerated for effect.

He spent his youth growing up in Arnold, Nebraska playing football, rodeoing and raising a little hell along the way. He eventually moved to California where he was a ranch hand and then found himself in the tv/movie industry, he appeared as an extra usually playing a cowboy but sometimes a banker or train engineer amongst other things.

Tommie was in the films Dalton Gang Rides Again, Shadow Riders and Belle Starr. He was also on the tv shows Little House on the Prairie, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Father Murphy and the remake of East of Eden.

Tommie decided he had had enough of the movie star life and moved back to Nebraska to be near family  then to Oklahoma for several years, however, his heart was in Nebraska so that is where he eventually settled.

Tommie is preceded in death by his Brothers Donald “Sammy” Teahon, Leland Teahon,  Gerald “Jerry ” Teahon and Sister Louis Cumpston (Teahon)

Tommie is survived by his daughters Denise (James) Peter, Delinda Beckstrom, Melissa Teahon, Tami (Rob) Alexander, Amanda (Nick) Snyder. Siblings William “Bill” Teahon,  Evelyn Gracey,  Millie Brewer,   Marlene “Molly”  Barent, Connie Britton and Jimmy Teahon,  12 Grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

We will be having a ‘Celebration of Tom’s Life’ gathering on May 7th, 2022 from 2-5 pm at Grazers in Arnold, Nebraska. For those who would like to stick around and watch one of Tommie’s favorite things, The Kentucky Derby, at 6pm, please do so. Food and Drink will be available for purchase.
